PR academy launches its own Digital Comms course

PR Academy asked members of its Alumni LinkedIn group about its idea for an online certificate in digital communication. The feedback was overwhelmingly positive with group members offering comments on the course content and helping to name the course the Digital Communication Certificate.
Designed and awarded by the PR Academy, the 6‐month course uses the latest online learning technology to take a strategic look at digital communication as part of communication planning. The digital tools available and the best way to use them; content creation for online and social media platforms; digital communication and crisis management as well as measurement and evaluation will be covered.

In addition to the online resources and live webinars there will be a one‐dayworkshop in central London.The course will be led by Kevin Ruck, director of PR Academy, and Tracy Playle of Pickle Jar Communications, who also designed and developed PR Academy’s Social Media for Internal
Communication one‐day course.
PR Academy Director Kevin Ruck said, “Digital communication offers us great opportunities as ommunicators but it also brings with it unique challenges. Our experience tells us that communication professionals aren’t always confident about how to use it as part of their communications strategy or that they are using it to good effect. The course aims to answer these questions and more.”
Enrolment for the PR Academy Digital Communication Certificate is now open with the course starting this October 2011. PR Academy is also running free course taster webinars for this and other courses in July.
