7 November 2012: PR Academy’s ‘Your Learning Journey’ competition winner – as voted for by you

PR Academy is delighted to announce the winner of its ‘Your Learning Journey’ competition. NHS Internal Communications Manager Helen Theofanous, who graduated from PR Academy with a CIPR Internal Communications Diploma in October 2012, claimed more than two thirds of the public online vote for her professional development story to claim her prize of a £250 Trailfinders gift card.

PR Academy ran the competition to encourage those with a commitment to learning and professional development to share their experiences around studying for a qualification, and how what they have learnt has helped them in their day-to-day work and to progress their career.

PR Academy director Ann Pilkington: “We’ve been providing education, training and career coaching for professional communicators for more than ten years and have met some really amazing people, all with a unique set of learning experiences. The aim of this competition was to celebrate their stories and use them to encourage continuous learning. Who better to inspire others to learn than those who have got the proverbial T-shirt? Congratulations to Helen, a thoroughly deserving winner, and thank you to all who entered for sharing your motivational stories.”

Entrants were asked to post their story in 140 words on the PR Academy website by 5pm on 26 October. Following the submissions deadline, an online public vote was held between 9am on 29 October and 5pm on 5 November to determine the most inspiring tale.
