Meet your course leader Chris Tucker

Chris Tucker calls herself a news junkie. “Sky News is constantly on in the background after, of course, BBC Radio Four’s Today programme. The development of the new news ecosystem meshing on and offline media is something that fascinates me. It’s certainly an enormously exciting time to be working in PR.”

Meet Chris

Signing up to the London Accelerator course for the PR Diploma is one of the best decisions I’ve made because it ultimately resulted in me getting a new job – even before I submitted my first assignment.

It was great to meet the other students in-person. It was a real boost to my learning and an opportunity to build vital connections. The food provided was also brilliant! Afterwards, someone set up a LinkedIn group to help support each other through our studies. One of my classmates knew I had been trying to make the switch from journalism to communications and mentioned there was a job vacancy where she worked. It was the role I’d been looking for.  I got the job so now we’re colleagues, friends and study pals.

Your questions answered

It's great news that your employer is investing in your development. The quickest and easiest way to pay is with a company card. (We can provide a receipted invoice after payment.) If your employer wants to pay by bank transfer on receipt of an invoice - no problem! The first thing to do is get a purchase order - you will need to upload it when you enrol. This is really important as without it we aren't able to raise an invoice. (If your company doesn't operate a PO system, just get in touch and we'll explain what we need to get the invoice raised correctly.) Allow plenty of time.  We need payment before you can join the course and we know that sometimes company payment processes can take a while. So act now to get it all sorted in time. If you need any help or advice, just give us a call or message on WhatsApp - we're here to help!
For CIPR courses, your course fee is a combination of the PR Academy tuition fee and the CIPR awarding body fee (like an exam fee), a CIPR registration fee and since 1 June 2025, CIPR Professional Student membership. For the tuition fee, PR Academy provides all your tuition via our bespoke online learning centre - our Study Hub. It includes an extensive online library with around 60 books, all the resources you need for your course, tutorials, assignment idea feedback, live online sessions, plus we mark your assignments. Check out our Study Support Package. You don’t really need to buy any books unless you would like to.
We offer plenty of support. Many courses offer individual tutorials that can be booked. The course leader is easily contactable and there is always someone in the office who can help with day to day queries.
The PR Diploma Classroom Accelerator course provides a full day of intensive tuition plus full access to the online blended learning course including any online activities and tutorials. You'll come away from the day confident about what is required for the assignments and ready to tackle the first one. You still have one year to complete your studies but you can complete it much more quickly.
There may be funding available in your area, so it is always a good idea to do some research as there may be schemes that we aren’t aware of. The CIPR occasionally has funding schemes and we'll update here when the next one is announced.
