Mind the PR Gap

Mind the PR Gap is an initiative developed by PR Academy in 2017 with leading academics Richard Bailey, Heather Yaxley, Philip Young and Nicky Garsten in the UK.

Topics covered to date include professionalism, developing a more focused academic-practitioner PR research agenda, capabilities, AI, fake news, and the future of work.

If you’re interested in the value of closer ties between PR research and practice, this annual event is for you. The summit aims to tackle important benefits and issues. It will set out realistic and achievable ways forward, with a clear agenda for change. Open to practitioners, academics, researchers and students – and free to attend.

This year the event is being run online again as a partnership between PR Academy and the University of Greenwich on 14 and 15 July. The themes are purpose and diverse experiences and intersectionality in public relations.
