Terms & Conditions

These terms and conditions apply to all qualifications and training programmes run by PR Academy Ltd. You should read the terms carefully, and your attention is drawn to the clause headed “Our Liability”.

In these terms “you” means the individual booking the relevant training programme and “we” means PR Academy Limited (Company number 06173353). Sometimes also referred to as the “Party” and collectively, the “Parties”.

Please make sure that you also read our privacy policy.

Payment

Terms: Our standard payment terms are set out on the invoice you receive. Payment in full is required before access is given to a course (unless paying by instalment). You are responsible for any bank charges, including those incurred when paying from an overseas bank account. All payments must be made in pounds sterling.

No tuition or course materials will be provided until payment has been received in full, or if paying by instalment, the first payment received. We don’t give access to a course based only on a Purchase Order.

Payment by instalments

If we offer payment by instalments, you must maintain your instalment plan and make payments by the due dates.until all outstanding payments have been made.

We reserve the right to suspend access to online accounts. No refund of any course fees already paid by you will be made.

You are liable for the full course fees, even if you decide not to continue with the course.

Refunds

You can cancel your course up to the point that you receive your login credentials. Unfortunately, we can’t give any refunds once the course has started.

It is not possible once the course is underway to transfer your place to another course or another person. This does not affect your statutory rights.

Changes and cancellation

We reserve the right to cancel a course, programme or training day.

If we have to change the date or location of a face-to-face event, we will try to give you as much advance notice as possible.We will aim to ensure that any alternative venue is within a reasonable travelling distance of the original venue. We will not be liable for any costs incurred including (for example) travel charges.

Sometimes things may happen that are beyond even our control. This is known as ‘force majeure’ and means that:

PR Academy will not be responsible for any failure to comply with any of its obligations (and therefore shall not be required to provide any compensation) if the failure is occasioned by any cause beyond PR Academy’s reasonable control. Nor shall PR Academy be responsible for any costs incurred by or on behalf of the student as a result of any such cause.

These circumstances may include, but are not limited to war, threat of war, riot, civil strife, industrial dispute, terrorist activity, natural or nuclear disaster, unusually adverse weather conditions and infectious diseases.

Occasionally the awarding bodies with which we work may update their syllabi. This is normal practice for qualifications. Existing students will remain on the programme that they enrolled on, we don’t move students to the new syllabus.

What happens if you need to resubmit an assignment

An £85 + VAT fee is payable for each assignment resubmission. The fee must be paid before the resubmission can be accepted.

Transferring places

The Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR) does not allow places on CIPR courses to be transferred to another delegate. Other awarding bodies usually have the same rule but may have different rules and these may change from time to time.

Our liability

Nothing in these terms shall exclude or limit our liability to the extent that such liability cannot be excluded or limited at law. In all other cases, our liability to you for any losses arising under or in connection with the booking shall be limited to the total amount paid by you.

Intellectual Property

All intellectual property in the course materials shall belong to PR Academy.

Abusive behaviour

We expect students and PR Academy staff to behave professionally, courteously and considerately at all times. If you have concerns about the behaviour of a member of our team, please let us know.

Because we want it to be a good experience for everyone, we reserve the right to remove a student from a course if their behaviour is deemed inappropriate. If we have to do this – and we hope we never do – no refund of course fees or other costs will be made.

Classroom Accelerator study option

Our Classroom Accelerator study option for the PR Diploma (from September 2025) includes a full day of classroom tuition. Once you have enrolled on a course, you cannot exchange your allocated classroom date for another date. You must attend the classroom session on the date specified for your course. It may be possible to attend a future classroom session, subject to availability and payment of an additional fee.

Course changes

Occasionally, we may need to make changes to tutors, programme specifications, lectures, course materials, published schedules, dates, or locations. While we reserve the right to make these changes, we aim to do so only when reasonably necessary.

Value-added services

Your course may include access to online resources and other additional services. We cannot guarantee that these services will always be available, for example because of technical faults or the withdrawal or alteration of services by third-party providers. We will always aim to resolve any issues or provide a suitable replacement where possible.

Communication by email

PR Academy administrators and tutors may send important updates and other information through the Study Hub. You should check the Study Hub regularly for messages. We may also contact you by email, so please ensure that your email address is kept up to date. Some communications may require you to take action within a specified timeframe.

Student/Delegate and Employer agreement

If your employer is paying your tuition fees, they may want information about your progress and your results. Here at PR Academy, we will not provide this to a third party (other than to the relevant awarding body or a member of the PR Academy team for valid business reasons) without your consent. This is something that you should agree with your employer when they say that they will fund the course for you.

Occasional offer prices

If we run an offer on tuition fees, this cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer. The course must be booked during the dates specified and cannot be extended beyond this. Any offer price will not be applied retrospectively.

Miscellaneous

These terms and conditions, together with any documents referred to in them, form the agreement between PR Academy and the student.

No person other than PR Academy or the student is entitled to enforce these terms.

These terms and conditions are governed by English law, and any disputes will be dealt with by the English courts.

If any part of these terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining terms will continue to apply.
