We’re getting back in the classroom!

It’s been a couple of years, but we feel that the time is now right to get back to some face-to-face learning.

So, we’ve launched our London Accelerator programme for the CIPR Professional PR Diploma, the CIPR Specialist Diploma: Internal Communication and the CIPR Specialist Certificate: Internal communication qualifications, kicking off in September.

I speak regularly to practitioners who are thinking about a qualification and often get asked about whether we do anything face-to-face. While online is super flexible and works brilliantly for lots of people – and we’ve very chuffed with our new Study Hub for online courses – for others, chatting to fellow practitioners in the break, lively round-table discussions plus dedicated time away from home/office is valued.

We did our best to keep classroom sessions going during COVID – rescheduling as needed to run them in the breaks between lockdown (I took my two-metre ruler with me to make sure everyone stayed safe!) But in the end, it was tricky to keep it going and we made the switch to everything being online.

However, we think that we’re social animals at heart and selfishly, here at PR Academy we all love being the classroom meeting practitioners and having a great time! But we also know that everyone is super busy and many are working remotely, sometimes having moved further away from London – it means committing to a series of classroom lessons over a period of time can be difficult, so we’ve designed the programmes accordingly.

The idea with the London Accelerator option is to kick start the programme with two intensive face-to-face classroom days in London. Then everyone completes their studies along with the online cohort on our smart new Study Hub.

It means there is an opportunity to network and build relationships that continue through the course and beyond.

We want to make sure that everyone goes away from the London sessions having accelerated their learning. They might like to crack on and complete the qualification more quickly with the boost the workshops give, or take things at a more steady pace benefitting from the learning and the relationships generated in the classroom.
