I decided to complete the CIPR Foundation Award because I wanted to strengthen my professional confidence and deepen my understanding of PR theory.

Working in communications, I’ve learned a lot on the job, but I reached a point where I wanted a recognised qualification to underpin my skills and give me a stronger foundation to build on. The course felt like the right next step to support my development.

What I enjoyed most about studying was seeing how the theory connects so closely to the work I do every day. The live online workshops were engaging and getting personalised feedback on my assignment proposal helped me improve my thinking and approach. I also really enjoyed producing the assignment, as it allowed me to apply what I was learning directly to real work, which made the whole experience feel meaningful and relevant.

The learning has already helped me in my role. I’m more confident in planning and evaluating communications, and I now have a clearer structure for shaping campaigns and messages. It’s also improved the way I explain the ‘why’ behind communications decisions to colleagues, which has been valuable internally.
