I had lost my confidence at work and saw little chance for growth or developing my career. The CIPR Internal Communication Diploma changed all that.

I love internal communication. After more than 30 years in the world of work, I have finally found my true calling.

Despite already working in internal communication, I realise now how little I knew about it. A key learning for me was the Diploma course’s strong focus on listening and responding to what employees have to say as essential elements of good and ethical internal communication.

Finding a balance between ‘receive’ and ‘transmit’ is something I will aim to bring into my own internal communication practice going forward, as is taking an evidence-based approach to communications planning.

I can honestly say I loved every minute of the Diploma course. Make no mistake, it is hard work but the support I received from PR Academy tutors was tremendous, as are the learning materials and online sessions.

My experience shows that it’s never too late to learn! Not only have I developed a lifelong love of learning, but I have also regained my confidence and have successfully applied for a new and exciting internal communication role.

My advice to anyone thinking of enrolling on the course – don’t overthink it – just do it! I am very glad I did just that.
