About this course

Good listening leads to better performance, more healthy cultures and more responsible businesses. It is the key to improving employee engagement.

This course is designed for experienced communicators or HR practitioners.  Explore what good listening means and how to put it into practice to boost engagement.

It is co-delivered by Kevin Ruck of PR Academy and Mike Pounsford of Couravel an organisation development consultant who specialises in communication and change.  Mike has led listening exercises for many blue-chip clients.

The course will draw on the 2019 Who’s Listening report, co-authored by Mike, Kevin Ruck from PR Academy and Howard Krais from IABC UK&I.

We are making ten places on the first course, starting in July, available to communication and HR practitioners who are furloughed or have been made redundant during 2020.
We'd be delighted to know that you have got a job or are back at work as usual. You can still  take up the free place as you will probably still be getting back on your feet.
Once you have registered through our Eventbrite link we will get back in touch and ask you for an email from your line manager or other document to verify your circumstances. Once done, we will be able to confirm your place. This needs to show that you have been furloughed or made redundant and that you were/are employed in a communication or HR role.
Payment for this course is by card only. We can provide a VAT receipt if you need one.
The course isn't assessed formally. However, in the final virtual workshop, students will work on an aspect of their business where they think listening could be improved and come away from the course with actions that can be put into place right away.
Its taught online by Kevin and Mike.  There are four online, one-hour workshops, online exercises, guided reading, bite size video and case studies.
